Especially now that we know JENNIFER LOPEZ AND SHAKIRA ARE PLAYING THE HALFTIME SHOW!!!!!!! Football season is officially in full swing, and people are already placing bets on who’s going to make it to the big game. Judging by what we know so far, it’s gonna be GOOOOOD.
Even if you don’t like football, watching the Super Bowl is fun. There are snacks, there are commercials, your friends will bring beer, and remember, J.Lo is gonna be there. So pin those dip recipes, figure out how many buffalo wings you need to order, and read on to know all the very important deets about Super Bowl LIIV.
So, When‘s the Super Bowl Again?
The Super Bowl will take place on February 2, 2020. The location changes every year, and this time around, the two final teams will throw down at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Kick-off starts at 6:30 p.m. ET, which is prime wing-eating time.
Who’s Performing at the Halftime Show?
Two ICONS, that’s who. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira both teased the news on Twitter by tweeting pictures of each other:
Get ready 🌎 02.02.20 pic.twitter.com/nCqtPIcc7w
This is happening. 02.02.20 pic.twitter.com/SwHUhH3Lfe
And J.Lo further confirmed the news in a press release.
Sharika and J.Lo on the same stage??? Literally what did we do to deserve this gloriousness??? It’s gonna be legendary. Life-changing. Earth-shattering. Just…*chef’s kiss*
Oh, and that’s not all—there is a sliiiiight chance that Latin king of pop, Ricky Martin (!!!), might be a part of the halftime show. He’s kinda hinting at the fact that he might be there possibly as a performer, so like….what’s the deal with that?
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ricky was playing hella coy and said that he might fly to Miami to catch the performance, but as far as joining J. Lo and Shakira, that is up in the air. He could have just said no, but guess what—he didn’t!
“Maybe I’ll fly to Miami. Maybe…I’ll be there. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens,” he said. “But it’s really nice when you can, you know, mix such a powerful event with sports, it’s a very beautiful…and cultural event as well. And now the fact that they’re opening the doors to Latin sounds to be part of the celebration, it’s something that I’m having a really, really good time with.”
Welp, fingers crossed that Ricky does join in on the festivities, because I personally would love and live to see how they weave in “Livin’ la Vida Loca” into the halftime show!
So How Do I Get Tickets to This Thing?
If you want to go to see J.Lo and Shakira (the correct answer) or watch a bunch of bros throw a ball around (I don’t understand it but I’ll support you), you can buy tickets for the Super Bowl online. They haven’t gone on sale yet, but we’ll let you know when they do!
