Following months of scraps and spats over vaccines, sausages, and travel ban between the UK and European Union Jeremy Vine revealed how a Remain-voting pal of his is fed up with the bloc. He told viewers his mate has “gone gangbusters for Brexit” following months of poor conduct from the EU.

In a discussion on the public’s feeling towards Brexit five years after the seismic vote, the panel shared their feelings on where they think people now stand.

Panellist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown said: “A survey shows we are still totally divided and where we were.

“Those who voted Remain haven’t shifted, those who voted Brexit haven’t shifted.”

Responding to the survey, Express columnist Carole Malone gave her feelings.

She said: “Why would we expect them to shift, they wanted to stay within the European Union!

“The European Union showed its true colours during this pandemic when it was prepared to deprive this country of vaccines.

“They were prepared to take life-saving vaccines from this country to punish us!

“And they still want to punish us for leaving and they are making it as difficult as they possibly can!”

She concluded: “I’m really glad – I think that harmed people’s opinion – there was one poll which showed 70% of people want to Leave.”

Mr Vine chimed in saying: “This is entirely anecdotal but I have got a friend, that will surprise you!

“He was a big Remainer, he’s gone just Gangbusters for Brexit now

“Because of the EU’s behaviour since we left!”
