Emmerdale actor Jurell Carter has opened up about his new character Nate and how his appearance will impact the other villagers in the Dales.
He also teased a future romance following his illicit kiss with Rhona.
During this week's flashback episode, viewers discovered that Rhona cheated on Pete with Nate in the club.
The farmer later discovered the truth after taking Nate on as a farmhand, leaving Rhona and Pete's relationship in tatters.
Questioned whether Nate would continue to pursue Rhona, actor Jurell said that the farmhand wouldn't.
"No cos I think for me, Nate is a very loyal character," he explained. "I think if he knew that she was already taken for [..] he wouldn’t have gone there. So I think him knowing that she’s in a relationship calls it off straight away. I don’t think he would pursue it, no."
He also teased that Nate could be linked to another older woman.
"There’s a few women, he definitely does like the ladies," Jurell said. "For me, he likes the older ladies but he likes the ones around his age as well, so I don’t he’s just for older women. So everyone!"
Is he prepared for the level of fame that comes with being part of a soap?
"I’m quite private, and being on something so huge as Emmerdale, it changes a lot," Jurell said. "I think I’m grounded enough… so I don’t think I’ll let it get to me.
"The type of person I am, I’m not like that, I’ll get used to it in time. Even when I did [a Lottery advert] people recognised me, that was a weird transition from going like, finishing drama school, doing a few odd jobs here and there to people recognising you is a weird.
"So yeah, I think I’ll get used to it eventually. I won’t let it get to my head."
*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm, with additional episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on ITV
