EastEnders star Danielle Harold shares message as she films Lola's ending

Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) devastating brain tumour storyline is set to come to an end very soon, with recent EastEnders scenes revealing that she only has up to six months left to live.

Ahead of Lola’s heart breaking exit from the show, actress Danielle took to Instagram to share an emotional message, drawing attention to statistics around brain tumours and thanking fans for their support.

‘Lola’s story has been a very hard one to tell and one that means so much to me and sadly affects so many people.’ She wrote, alongside a photo of her on-set with her onscreen family.

‘Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet historically only 1% of research is allocated to this devastating disease.’ She revealed.

She went on to thank people who had contacted her to tell their own stories and share their experiences with her.

‘I would like to take a moment for everybody that has reached out to me and shared their experiences with me, I have read every message and hold all of your messages close to my heart whilst playing this story.

‘I have been blessed to meet the most incredible people and work with some wonderful charities along the way and I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for all your support advice and love.’

It didn’t take long for her comments section to be filled with praise, from fans and co-stars alike.

Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell, the father of Lola’s daughter, said, ‘Our girl,’ with four love hearts, followed by: ‘YOU have helped save people’s lives. And are giving the greatest performance. An absolute beacon and a superstar.’

Honey Mitchell actress Emma Barton was also party to the praise, saying: ‘Words cannot express how I feel about you darling one… you are a masterpiece, talent, true, honest & WOW!’

‘So proud of you Dan!’ Callum Highway actor Tony Clay added.

Lola’s story is set to come to an end before the year is out, with a photo of her on the end of the Queen Vic bar during the iconic flash forward episode confirming her death.

Danielle was recently spotted filming on location with onscreen husband Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), as the pair enjoyed a final day out by the sea.

In upcoming scenes, Lola will begin to get her affairs in order, as she makes a big decision for daughter Lexi’s (Isabella Brown) future.

It is as yet unknown how long Lola will be on screen, but one thing is for certain: We will definitely miss her when she goes.
