Ian Beale (played by Adam Woodyatt) had been hiding the dark truth about his involvement in Dennis Rickman’s (Bleu Landau) death from Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) on EastEnders. However, Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) has finally exposed the truth after Ian made sure she wouldn’t go to prison for a drugs charge he instigated to keep her quiet.
After returning from court, Bobby Beale (Clay Milner-Russell) urged Dotty to change her opinion on his dad but she refused.
Bobby said: “My dad came through for you then, he’s not so bad you know? Even you must see that now.”
Dotty swiped: “My old man wasn’t exactly a saint either but he’s Mother Theresa compared to yours.”
“Why do you keep saying stuff like that?” Bobby hit back.

“You’ve been slagging him off for weeks, he may have made some mistakes but at least he never hurt anyone like yours.”
“The people my dad hurt deserved it most of the time,” Dotty quipped.
“Tell you that, did he?” Bobby asked. “Nan always said he was a liar. Look I’m not saying you’re a chip off the old block or anything.”
“He was straight,” Dotty hit back. “Take him or leave him; he didn’t hide behind anything or no one.
“Everyone might have hated him but he knew exactly what he was and he saw everyone else for what they were too,” Dotty said.
“So you’re wrong, I am a chip off the old block [and I’m going] to prove it.”
Dotty burst into the Queen Vic and revealed the truth to Sharon while Max Branning (Jake Wood) looked on.
“Never ends, does it? You think it has and something happens and you’re right back again,” Dotty began.

“I felt exactly the same when my dad died. What made it worse is that no one was telling me the truth about how he died.”
Ian interjected: “This is the last thing Sharon wants to talk about right now.”
Continuing, Dotty said: “But people deserve to know the truth, don’t they? About their loved ones.”
“What is all this?” a confused Sharon asked.
“I wasn’t going to say anything but you’re going to find out anyway and it will be so much worse,” Dotty revealed.
“He’s the reason Dennis died, he locked him in that boat and that’s why he drowned. Ian is the reason Dennis is dead.”
Sharon will be floored by the shocking revelation but Max’s presence in the Queen Vic could provide a huge clue as to how the mum will get revenge.
Despite becoming business partners, Max and Ian have a complicated past and the lothario could be persuaded to take action against the councillor.
Will the landlady recruit Max to avenge her son’s tragic death?
EastEnders continues Tuesday on BBC One at 7.35pm.
