What has Mikey North said about leaving Coronation Street
Mikey North – who plays Gary – has spoken out to say he has no plans to leave the soap in the near future.
In June, the star hinted that karma won’t be catching up with his evil character any time soon.
The actor said: "I’ve been here for over 10 years now and this is the most exciting period of time in Gary’s life. You want big storylines so I’ll take whatever they can throw at me.
In September, Gary told Metro that storylines for his character had been planned out for the next 18 months.
Speaking to Metro, he said: "I’ve always said that I’d rather go in a blaze of glory as it were, leaving bodies behind, so I’m happy either way."
"If this does become Gary’s last hurrah, which I hope it doesn’t, then it’s a great story to be involved with. I think as time goes on with this story in to next year, I think he’s become more calculated, because he’s had to. There’s going to be a more calculated side to Gary coming out over the next sort of 12-18 months."
