Each afternoon at 2:10pm, Countdown fans are used to tuning into Channel 4 to see Anne Robinson, Susie Dent and Rachel Riley put two contestants to the test against a series of number and literary brainteasers. Taking to Twitter a confused Ryan Love asked: “Uhm where is #Countdown please @Channel4.”

Hester was similarly keen for answers: “@channel4 why has Countdown been cancelled?”

“@Channel4 Where’s Countdown?!” @perishingtardis added while @_Rgraph fumed: “@C4Countdown No countdown today?! Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!”

And Andrew Clements echoed: “@C4Countdown no show today?” has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
