Coronation Street's mechanic Kevin Webster turned into a detective to find out his partner's Abi Franklin's whereabouts.

Kevin recently met up with Abi's ex partner Tez to find out more information of where she could be.

After realising that ex criminal Tez may have previously given Kevin the run around, Kevin decided to do some investigative work of his own and in the episode Kevin could be seen hiding behind objects to take photos of Tez.

Kevin's antic's didn't stop a sea of online comments coming through from fans who compared the businessman to detective Taggart.

Taking to Twitter one fan penned: "It aint f*****g Taggart Kevin."

Another asked: "Are we supposed to see Kevin as a wizened old tough action type?"

A third penned: "Mechanic turned detective. Multi skilled."

Meanwhile a fourth added: "Think I must have missed an episode of #Corrie because I have no idea why Kevin is all cloak and dagger round the back of some hotel bins for the whole episode."

But as the scene continued to unfold, Kevin discovered that Tez was in possession class A drugs.

Quickly snapping Tez on his phone's camera, the ex-convict notices that Kevin has been watching him and decides to confront him.

But hard man Kevin who is tired of being tricked by Tez informed him that he will send a report to his probation officer with the incriminating photo.

He also told Tez that he's not scared of him and he can certainly sort him out himself if needs be.

Viewers were taken aback by Kevin's new persona once again and headed straight to Twitter to share their views.
