There’s hope of a reunion for Peter Barlow and Carla Connor on Coronation Street , after a backstage snap teased a big spoiler.
Currently on the ITV soap, Peter is in rehab after the recovering alcoholic recently relapsed.
It came after Carla fled the Street amid suffering a mental break down, caused by the guilt of the factory roof collapse which killed Rana Habeeb.
Carla knew the roof was damaged before the incident and, like the residents on the Street, blamed herself – unaware that a mystery person actually tampered with it.
After growing increasingly paranoid, she suffered a mental breakdown and despite Peter’s best efforts to help her she ran away.
Ahead of her return, and with Peter still in rehab, turning to alcohol after struggling with Carla’s disappearance, a new backstage snap has teased exciting scenes to come.
Cast members Alison King and Chris Gascoyne, who plays the on/off couple, are shown filming with Michelle Connor actress Kym Marsh and Roy Cropper actor David Neilson.
While the picture has been taken in-between filming, therefore not revealing what is going on, it’s given fans hope that Carla and Peter are on the mend.
With both characters back on the Street and at Roy’s flat, in the same room, it hints that the fan favourites may have reunited and may be doing okay.
Again, while there is nothing in the snap that sheds light on what the scene is or how the characters are at that moment in time, viewers have taken to social media to rejoice believing it’s good news.
One fan said to the soap’s Twitter account: “Thank you for blessing us with this.”
Another tweeted: “Carla appears to be on the mend.”
A third commented: “Seeing Carla there with everyone makes me happy I hope she gets the help she needs.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
