Caitlyn Jenner 'eyed up for Sex And The City reboot in diversity bid'

Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly in talks to star alongside the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker in the upcoming Sex And The City reboot And Just Like That.

It was confirmed earlier this week that the beloved sitcom is making a dramatic comeback, with Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon reprising their roles of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, and Miranda Hobbs.

While Kim Cattrall won’t be revisiting her iconic character Samantha Jones, it’s bee claimed that 71-year-old former I’m A Celebrity campmate Caitlyn is a favourite to appear as a cameo on the hit show.

According to the Mirror, bosses of the revived series are hoping to make the sitcom as diverse as possible after the originals were called out for not being inclusive, and it’s believed Caitlyn, who is transgender, would be a perfect new addition to the cast.

‘Caitlyn has been a media fixture in one way or another for going on 50 years, an insider said. ‘She’s really perfect for an appearance.’

They continued to the publication: ‘They want new faces for the show, but they want people viewers actually know and care about too.’

Last year, Nixon confessed that the lack of diversity in Sex And The City ‘troubled’ her.

‘I was always troubled by how undiverse it was,’ the star told Grazia.

‘Certainly racially but also how the slice of New York City it was showing was so incredibly affluent.

‘Miranda’s husband was the only representation of anybody who didn’t have money for days. I guess Carrie didn’t have money for days but you would never know it by the way she spent.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted HBO and Caitlyn’s rep for comment.

And Just Like That will stream on HBO Max.
