BGT: David Walliams says the judges are ‘irrelevant’
Just minutes into the second episode of the current Britain’s Got Talent series, some took to social media to blast the ITV staple as “boring”.
Others demanded David Walliams be brought back after Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno Tonioli failed to impress some.
Comedian David, 51, left the show after a decade on the judging panel following a controversy in which he was forced to issue an apology.
It was revealed he had described an elderly contestant as “a c***” and made vile remarks about a woman on the show.
Some have applauded David’s replacement, Bruno, 67, but the latest episode drew in some criticism by those who missed David.
It wasn’t looking promising for the programme itself as some shared they had “switched” the channel off.
Twitter user @Hajrahmalik1234 penned: “Bring back David Walliams #BGT.”
@Dreambig_meera added: “Much prefer David Walliams on BGT instead of Bruno. Loved how David used to annoy Simon #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”
“I miss comedy on BGT. bring back David Walliams now. @davidwalliams #bgt,” @Tom_Muzzy_2001 complained.

@LD7290 posted: “Same acts over and over. Even from different shows like Xfactor.”
@marjieN asked: “What is the point of this? Think I’ll go back to Netflix #BGT.”
@suzysasha tweeted: “#BGT Don’t know why I watch this. Way too much time wasted on boring life stories and pointless nonsense. Wish I had Netflix.”
@Cherylscribs wrote: “The cat just came in and jumped on the tv remote and changed the channel to bbc1. Cat’s got taste #bgt.”
Not everyone agreed though, with some praising the series and @sarahstoney1984 added: “I like Bruno better than David #BGT.”
David’s comments had been made in early 2020 during auditions but were revealed to the public in 2022.
David said: “She’s like the slightly boring girl you meet in the pub that thinks you want to f*** them, but you don’t… It’s the last thing on your mind, but she’s like, ‘Yep, I bet you do!'”
A source explained David felt it was time to “move on” from the show after the revelations.
Speaking to The Sun, the insider said: “He hasn’t taken the decision lightly, but it just feels like time to move on.
Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
