Yankees-Red Sox postponed due to Yankees COVID scare

The Yankees’ Thursday night game against the Red Sox has been postponed because of positive COVID-19 tests on the Yankees.

Earlier in the day, the Yankees announced Nestor Cortes and Wandy Peralta had been placed on the COVID-19 IL. They joined Jonathan Loaisiga on the COVID IL. He was placed there Saturday.

In May, the Yankees dealt with a COVID outbreak that sidelined Gleyber Torres. Eight other members of the organization tested positive at the time, including third base coach Phil Nevin, who missed over a month dealing with the effects of the virus.
