ARSENAL fans were left open-mouthed as Alexandre Lacazette produced one of the misses of the season against Burnley.
The France striker was provided with a golden opportunity to add to his pitiful tally of three league goals this season as the Gunners searched for a breakthrough at the Emirates.
Wonderkid Emile Smith Rowe drove to the byline before cutting the ball back expertly into Lacazette’s path.
But the 30-year-old could only spoon wide with the goal-mouth and the chance of a 1-0 lead begging.
Home fans were left unimpressed and took to social media to vent their frustration after seeing their side held to a goalless draw.
User PaddyArsenal wrote on Twitter: “£56m Lacazette can’t put the ball in an empty net but let’s give him a new contract!”
Fan Lloyd Tennant wrote: “Terrible result, Lacazette’s miss was a shocker… a top striker and a midfielder is a must before the end of the window.”
Chiddyafc fumed: “Lacazette is a bottom 5 striker in the PL. I'm absolutely disgusted.”

The result leaves Arsenal sixth in the Premier League table – albeit with two games in hand over West Ham above them.
Boss Mikel Arteta is desperate for goals, with his side failing to score since the 2-1 defeat by leaders Manchester City on New Year’s Day.
It marks the first time they have failed to score in four consecutive matches in all competitions since December 2005.
But there is still no place in his side for ex-skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has sensationally been tipped to stay in North London despite intense transfer speculation.
