Chelsea transfer news LIVE: Raphinha BOOST, Raheem Sterling AGREES personal terms, Nathan Ake in advanced talks – latest | The Sun

CHELSEA have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Leeds star Raphinha as rival bidding club Barcelona have reportedly offered Jesse Marsch's side a lower fee for the Brazilian.

The Blues agreed a £60m fee with Leeds over a week ago but are yet to hear back from Raphinha, who is said to prefer a move to Barca.

But it now looks like Chelsea may win the tug-of-war, with the Catalan club offering a fee short of Leeds' valuation for the winger.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are in advanced talks to re-sign Man City's Nathan Ake.

The Blues sold the Dutch centre-back to Bournemouth back in 2017 for a £17m fee.

Meanwhile Chelsea have AGREED personal terms with Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

    They say never go back…

Chelsea is edging closer to becoming the latest player Chelsea have re-signed.

The defender is in advanced talks to move from Manchester City back to Stamford Bridge.

Ake captained Chelsea at youth level before spending five years with the club, later joining Bournemouth.

From there he went to City but the Premier League champions are ready to sell the centre-back to their rivals.

It would see Ake become the latest player to make a Chelsea comeback, following in the footsteps of David Luiz, Dider Drogba, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku.

    Chelsea Raphinha boost explained

The Blues have received a transfer boost as they try and beat Barcelona to the signing of Brazilian winger Raphinha.

It is widely reported that Raphinha would prefer a move to Barcelona providing the two clubs can come to an agreement.

But Chelsea have agreed a fee of £55m with Leeds, to beat rivals Arsenal for the maverick winger.

    Koeman reveals De Jong chat

Ronald Koeman revealed Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong wants to stay at the Nou Camp amid links with Manchester United and Chelsea.

De Jong is United boss Erik ten Hag's top target in the summer transfer window as he looks to boost his midfield after Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic's departure.

Koeman said during a press conference ahead of the 'Koeman Cup' golf tournament: "With Frenkie, with Memphis, I have a lot of contact.

"I know Frenkie's situation and he said it himself the other day, he wants to stay.

"So his intention is to continue at Barca and nothing else. It's the only thing I know.

"Memphis came last year, for free from Lyon. He has proven to be a great player. I think he is a player for Barca, that's why we signed him.

"It depends on Xavi's opinion if he he wants it or not, but for me it is indisputable, it is for Barca".

"Now it will depend on which club agrees to the price that Juventus is asking."

    Sarr on returning for pre-season

Malang Sarr is delighted to be back with his team-mates after the summer break.

He told Chelsea's official website: "It is really good to be back to see the guys and the staff. I had a good summer, spending the first three weeks with my family as it had been a long time since I had been able to sit down and spend real proper time when I have not been rushing anywhere.

"Then I spent a few weeks for me as well, working and relaxing so I’m able to come back and be ready for the new season.

"We started to train Saturday morning, a session in the morning and a bit of work in the gym before we trained again on Sunday. We had cardiac and blood tests.

"The manager came back on Monday and we started to train a bit harder in the morning.

"We do the physical work and fitness work but we still do ball play, position games and technical work which is really good for us. Little games with small goals, just to bring the intensity with the ball into it."

“It hasn't been an easy time for him this summer. Things have come and gone and there have been a lot of little discussions. Right now he's our player.

“He showed up today and trained with everybody, he had such a good attitude. We had a very open and honest conversation about while he's here he's part of us, and then we'll see what happens.

"It's still a long way to go in the transfer window. I know he has hopes and dreams. I know he loves this team and this club and he loves being here. We'll see how things progress day by day.”
