The moment we have all been waiting for is here, Netflix has officially revealed the first trailer and release date for The Crown season 4. On Twitter, the streaming network wrote, "The monarchy. Above all else. @GillianA and Emma Corrin join Olivia Colman in Season Four of The Crown, arriving 15th November."
The trailer shows Olivia Colman, who plays Queen Elizabeth at the gates of Buckingham Palace as she says "something as important as the monarchy, simply cannot be allowed to fail." The video then cuts to a montage of Princess Diana, played by Emma Corrin, in front of paparazzi and fans, eventually ending with a shot of her in her wedding gown.
For reference, here is what Diana's iconic wedding dress looked like in real life.
While this is the first official glimpse at Corrin's Diana, it's certainly not the only time we've seen what is to come from the show. Several images of filming highlighted the actress in some of the late princess's most iconic outfits.
In a statement around the announcement of her casting, Corrin said of the role, "I have been glued to the show and to think I'm now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal." She continued "Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To explore her through Peter Morgan's writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice!"
