Royal Mail services delayed in parts of the UK today – affected postcodes

Royal Mail customers expecting post today could receive it later than expected following the disruption to the service network.

The courier stated that while they aim to deliver to all addresses six days a week, this may not always be possible.

In their latest update, selected postcodes were listed as affected by delays on a local level.

According to the Royal Mail website, disruption is limited to England though it is widespread – ranging from Chulmleigh to Preston.

The service apologised for the inconvenience caused as a result of processing issues.

Not all mail was processed and dispatched to schedule over the last 24 hours in Preston and Sheffield.

On their website, the service warned that some mail posted in the BB, FY, LA and PR postcode areas may be delayed on its arrival to other parts of the UK.

In Sheffield, post sent from the DN, HU, LN, and S postcode areas may also be impacted by the processing issues.

Disruption on a local level has also impacted postcodes in England – specifically in the South West.

Deliveries from some local offices are affected by issues such as high levels of sickness absence, resourcing, and other local factors.

Royal Mail revealed that the most impacted postcodes are as follows:

  • Bristol South DO (BS13, BS3 and BS41)
  • Broadstairs DO (CT10)
  • Chew Stoke SUDO (BS39 and BS40)
  • Chulmleigh SPDO (EX18)
  • Hampstead DO (NW3)
  • Mill Hill DO (NW7)

In these areas, the postal service explained that they will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

A statement from Royal Mail read: “We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
