Real life Rapunzel grows luscious 5.4ft hair thats longer than her height

A "real life Rapunzel" who has never cut her hair has locks which measure a staggering 5.4ft (64inch) long.

Alla Perkova, 37, has gained a massive following of 30,000 fans on Instagram where she flaunts her luscious locks.

Due to her unique look, the Ukrainian has been dubbed the "real life Rapunzel" by her followers.

She stands at just 5ft 3in tall while her impressive hair reaches 5ft 4in, meaning her hair is longer than her entire body.

The lawyer was inspired by her mum Maria's waist-length hair as she considers her to be incredibly beautiful.

As she has been growing her hair for a while, Alla maintains her locks by washing it every two days.

She prides herself on her all-natural hair as she doesn't use any hair growth products.

Alla's hair has also caught the attention of some A-list celebrities, like Candice Swanepoel and Jared Leto.

She met the actor on her honeymoon, while model Candice shared a snap of Alla's hair on her own Instagram account.

And it's no surprise that Alla loves the response she receives from online fans.

While she occasionally receives negative backlash, she says that the only downside to her long hair is that she can step on it.

Her family are supportive of her hair journey, while her mum is proud to have helped maintain the length.

Alla's husband Eduard also loves her hair and even helps to comb it sometimes.

She said: "I never thought that this hair length was possible.

"Since childhood, I've always loved hair if it is healthy. My mum always had hair down to her waist I just wanted the same.

"But I didn't think that my hair could grow to the floor and be longer than me."

She added: "It's easy for me to deal with this current length, because the hair grew gradually.

"I wash my hair once every two days and I only use regular shampoo for normal hair.

"I don't cut the ends of my hair, because I don't like it when it is straight and I don't want the hair to look like a wig.

"My husband says he has never seen a girl with such long hair he thinks I'm special."

Despite her famous admirers and loving husband, Alla still receives criticism for her unconventional appearance.

She concluded: "Some people say that I should cut my hair to a normal length – but nobody knows what that is.

"Who is there to say what a 'normal' length of hair is anyway, as there isn't one.

"I've learned that some people don't like it if you look different to them. I like my unusual appearance. I am grateful.

"But I always say that hair length is not the main thing, it's health that is important."
