A Dominican rapper is being mocked and criticized on social media for showing up to his wedding in ripped jean shorts, a T-shirt, and socks with sandals — while his wife was completely glammed up in a white lace gown.
Reggaeton artist Nfasis, whose real name is Joel García, tied the knot with Diana Vargas de Garcia in December of 2020, but photos from the event are going viral this week due to Nfasis’s unusual attire — and bored-looking facial expressions.
While Diana came dressed to impress in a stunning white lace gown, sparkly tiara, and veil, Nfasis looked more like he was spending the day at home with friends, and didn’t bother to wear anything fancier than denim shorts and a T-shirt.
Yikes! A Dominican rapper is being mocked and criticized on social media for showing up to his wedding in ripped jean shorts, a T-shirt, and socks with sandals

What was he thinking? While Diana came dressed to impress in a stunning white lace gown, sparkly tiara, and veil, Nfasis looked more like he was spending the day at home with friends
No tux? He is seen in a sheer white T-shirt with a white tank top underneath, which he wears a top of distressed knee-length jean shorts covered in patches
Photos and video from the event show an indoor wedding with plenty of guests and few masks.
The room is decorated with white flowers, and a dessert table holds an elaborate cake and other treats.
Diana is dressed typically for a bride on her wedding day: She’s wearing a blush gown with lots of white lace and a long train, which she has accessorized with a sparkly tiara, glitzy earrings, and a lace veil.
She has also clearly spent plenty of time getting her hair and makeup done to look extra special for the big day.
Even their two daughters are dressed beautifully in white dresses and flower crowns.
Nfasis, though, appears to have put in no effort at all. He is seen in a sheer white T-shirt with a white tank top underneath, which he wears a top of distressed knee-length jean shorts covered in patches.
On his feet are a pair of slides, which he wears over white socks pulled up the length of his calves.
He also appears to be wearing a tuxedo cuff a tuxedo cuff bracelet on one wrist and a black watch on the other.
A video shared by Nfasis and Diana on social media show him entering the reception with an expressionless face, holding up a peace sign to guests.
In other images, he continues to maintain a blank, smile-less stare, even as he kisses his bride.
Another video shows him looking down at the floor, his expression neutral, while Diana serenades him.
The photos and clips flew under the radar when they were first shared last year and again in January — but earlier this week, Nfasis shared images from the big day yet again and they caught more attention on social media.
Not taking this seriously: During posed photos, he made some funny faces at the camera
Accessorized: He is also wearing an odd assortment of jewelry, including a tuxedo cuff-like bracelet on one wrist
Better behaved: Even the couple’s daughters were dressed up beautifully for the occasion
Though Diana seems happy in all of the photos, Nfasis seems bored and disinterested

When ZeeTheBrat_ shared the images on Twitter, the mockery poured in.
‘Imagine your man coming to your WEDDING looking like this,’ ZeeTheBrat_ wrote.
‘I think there are moments for everything and out of respect for her, who was very pretty in her dress, you should have respected the etiquette and protocol,’ a commenter chimed in in Spanish.
‘Pleeeeease, wtf is thiiiiiis?????’ asked another commenter.
One woman on Twitter said that had she been in the bride’s shoes, ‘we simply would not have gotten married.’
‘He looked like he just remembered ten minutes before the ceremony he was getting married. They asked him, if he wanted to change and he said he she doesn’t accept me like this, she ain’t the one,’ another person wrote.
Run! Horrified social media users have criticized him for his lazy outfit
‘No offense to her,’ said one more. ‘But I would’ve been a runway bride if I saw my man wearing that to our wedding, not only is it so wrong in so many levels, it’s also the fact that she got all glammed up while he wore that makes it even worst.’
While many were struck by the overall sloppiness of his look, others zeroes in on specific details, like his slides, his cuff, and the tuxedo bracelet.
Some were more upset about how checked out Nfasis looked.
‘He definitely look like he paused his game on PS4 and put the blunt out to attend his wedding real quick,’ said one.
‘He obviously don’t wanna be there. Sis gone find yourself cause you lost,’ said another, while a third asked: ‘Why does it look like he is in a state of despair?’
‘I felt bad for her and those kids!’ said yet another. ‘I feel like his facial expressions are actually worse than his clothes Loudly crying face like, no love or happiness in his face at all!’
Sad: Several Twitter users have zeroed in on his expression in this photo
OK? Diana, though, insisted on social media that ‘everything was perfect and how I wanted it’
Diana, though, insisted on social media that ‘everything was perfect and how I wanted it.’
‘I am the happiest and luckiest woman,’ she wrote in Spanish. ‘My wedding was so simply beautiful. My husband, friends, and family were beautiful.’
‘I confess that I had never dreamed of a wedding, not a white dress, like most women,’ she said.
‘Until one day my sister told me, “We are going to measure some dresses,” and when they brought me that dress that I have on with that veil and that crown, tears came to my eyes, because I felt like a princess.’
