Mrs Hinch reveals how to remove pet hair from carpets and stairs

Cleaning tips: Mrs Hinch reveals the best products to clean up spillages and remove stubborn pet hair from carpets and stairs for a fur-free home

If you share your home with a four-legged friend, you will know how annoying pet hair can be. Dog and cat hair can cling to nearly every surface and be a nightmare to remove.

While it can be a tedious task, Queen of Clean Mrs Hinch took to Instagram yesterday to answer her fans ‘Hinching FAQs’, which included a simple trick on how to remove pet hair from carpets and what the best cloth is for spillages.

Sharing her answers with her four million followers, Mrs Hinch – whose real name is Sophie Hinch – showed fans her go-to cleaning products and demonstrated how she puts them to use around her home to keep it sparkling clean.

Mrs Hinch took to Instagram yesterday to answer her fans ‘Hinching FAQs’, which included a simple trick on how to remove pet hair from carpets and the best cloth to use for spillages

The first FAQ was asking about the best sponge for cleaning up spillages. For this, Mrs Hinch recommended the SPh2ONGE Cloth (now £6.58, originally £8.46), a lightweight cloth made from a super absorbent material that the brand claims holds eight times its weight in liquid.

Using what looked like squash, the cleaning sensation demonstrated just how quickly the hardworking cloth absorbs spillages without leaving any streaks or residue.

And it isn’t just Mrs Hinch who is a fan, as on Amazon over 69 per cent of the  Sph2onge cleaning cloths’ reviewers have left them a five -star rating, with users hailing them a ‘cleaning essential’ and ‘worth every penny’.

‘This thing is absolutely unbelievable,’ one happy Hincher wrote. ‘No idea how it absorbs so much water, but I feel like it could suck up a tsunami, will defo be getting more and potentially just using them as a towel for the dog- just absolutely brilliant.

‘I really think they are some kind of super scientific winning machine! Ready to Hinch myself happy!’

Mrs Hinch answered a question on how to get rid of stubborn pet hair from carpets with something you likely already have in your bathroom: a window squeegee

Next, Mrs Hinch answered a question on how to get rid of stubborn pet hair from carpets with something you likely already have in your bathroom: a window squeegee.

Using the squeegee, Mrs Hinch collected a ball of hair by simply brushing the squeegee across each stair – it’s that simple.

Better yet, giving the cleaning hack a try is seriously cheap, as you can score a plastic window squeegee for as little as £3 online at Amazon.

To finish, Mrs Hinch freshened up her carpets using 1001 Carpet Fresh Soft Jasmine & Fresh Linen (£2.50), which the brand claims ‘safely eliminates all types of pet smells, without the need to vacuum’. This quick-drying foam penetrates deep down into your carpet fibres, instantly neutralising trapped odours.

For more cleaning hacks, we recommend the Instagram star’s bestselling book, Hinch Yourself Happy (now £6.49, originally £12.99), where you’ll learn more about Mrs Hinch’ cleaning must-haves and step-by-step guides to ‘hinching’ your home.
