Martin Lewis has revealed the cheapest place to buy Christmas dinner. He told viewers the best deals available at Tesco, Lidl and Aldi.

A food shop can be more expensive at Christmas with lots of tempting festive treats available.

As well as buying a turkey, many people will fill their trolleys with trimmings.

These include sides like pigs in blankets, stuffing and a variety of vegetables.

The cost of food can add up but Martin has given a hack to save on some essential Christmas dinner foods.

Appearing on ITV, he explained supermarkets have been cutting the costs of the sides this year.

Supermarket Christmas offers

Martin discussed a selection of cheap deals available on supermarket vegetables.

He explained Tesco, Lidl and Aldi have already dropped their prices of bags of vegetables.

He said: “Christmas veg wars have started. In Aldi bags are 14p, Lidl is 15p, Tesco is from 19p.

“This is for a big bag of sprouts, or carrots or potatoes, or parsnips or cabbage.

“And expect the other supermarkets to play soon.”

The Money Saving Expert stated other supermarkets are sure to drop their prices in the run up to December 25.

When picking up cheap vegetables, Martin opened up on another simple way to get money off.

Those shopping at Lidl could pick up vouchers worth up to £14.

How much is earned depends on how much money is spent by customers in stores.

By downloading the Lidl app, shoppers can earn discounts and vouchers to be spent in stores.

Right now, the app is offering money off coupons that can be earned by scanning when you shop.

Those using the app must act quick as the vouchers are only available to earn when shopping in December.

Martin added: “If you get the Lidl app, even if you are an existing app customer, and you spend £100 in there you can scan the app and get a £2 coupon.

“If you spend another £100, you get a £12 coupon during December.”
