The reality star and TV personality has experienced the ups and downs of the celebrity world after taking part in last year’s show. She said: “It was a huge shock and lifestyle change. When you’ve been in that little bubble for so long away from normal life, you have no idea what you’re coming out to. “Everyone will be different, but I think my best advice would be to take it all in your stride and soak up every minute, it’s not going to last forever, and you will look back on it as a once in a lifetime experience.
“Once leaving the villa it can be hard to get back into a normal routine after being out of it for so long.
“I think the best thing to do is plan your weeks in advance, plan your meals as much as you can, I think the biggest advice to give is to plan everything.
“And that’s how you can just stay focused on your goals.
“I think it’s really important to relax and to include that as part of your daily routine, it’s so good for your mental health just to switch off, have some time off your phone and chill out.”
The 27-year-old Londoner, who has 1.5 million followers on Instagram, has faced increased scrutiny from followers on social channels.
During lockdown, she put on two stone in weight after overindulging on junk food, leading to trolls abusing her about her appearance on social media.
She is now an ambassador for the health and wellbeing app Jonple, documenting her progress online.
And she has one key piece of advice for those who are bodyshamed by trolls online – ignore it.
Shaughna said: “I know it’s easier said than done but I’ve learnt that it’s the best thing to do, you can’t let these things get to you otherwise it will just take over your life the more you entertain these people the more they will carry on doing it.
“I’ve definitely received hate in the past, I don’t think there’s many people that are in a similar position to me who haven’t.
“On Instagram you are receiving hate in your comments, generally from people scrutinising your looks and appearance which does get to you.
“I’ve learnt to ignore and block but you do have days where it can really get to you.
“When I have days like that, I always try to just do something to distract myself, whether that be exercise or meeting friends and find that really brings me back to reality and reminds me that these people and comments are not important.”
