Lidl’s melting chocolate and salted caramel cottage has a cookie filling inside

Lidl has launched the best Christmas dessert of the year.

Forget gingerbread houses, the affordable supermarket has launched a cottage that melts when chocolate sauce is poured down its chimney.

The Dark Chocolate & Salted Caramel Cottage comes with chocolate sauce that melts the cottage and blends with the gorgeous mousse, salted caramel and cookie inside.

Lidl's showstopping dessert has been labelled the "ultimate Instagrammable treat this Christmas" by the store.

Perfect as a centre-piece, the dessert will look great on your table and entertain children.

Available in store now, the Dark Chocolate & Salted Caramel Cottage also costs just £6.99.
