Becca Anderson, from Charleston, shared the letter from Buckingham Palace on her Instagram stories, which was signed by Claudia Spens, head of general correspondence for the royals.

While she didn’t reveal the contents of her original note, the reply said that Meghan ‘appreciated the generous words of support’.

Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, are currently on a six-week break from royal duty and are believed to be in the US with her mother Doria Ragland.

Becca Anderson, from Charleston, revealed the Duchess of Sussex, 38, had responded to a ‘letter of encouragement’ that she had sent (pictured with the Duke of Sussex, 35)

Sharing the note online, Becca revealed she sent a note to the Duchess ‘as a letter of encouragement.

While Becca didn’t reveal the contents of her own letter, she wrote: ‘If you can’t tell, I love Duchess Meghan.’

And sharing the royal’s response, she posted: ‘So thoughtful to send a response!’

In the letter, Claudia wrote: ‘The Duchess of Sussex has asked me to thank you for your thoughtful card.

Becca shared the letter online, which read: ‘It was kind of you to take the trouble to write as you did. Her Royal Highness appreciated your generous words of support’

She went on: ‘It was so kind of you to take the trouble to write as you did.

‘Her Royal Highness appreciated your generous words of support and has asked me to send you warmest thanks and best wishes.’

It comes mid-way through Prince Harry and Meghan’s six week break from royal duty.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to be spending the break in the US after a royal commentator claimed in November they had celebrated Thanksgiving with ‘close family’ on a ‘trip to the US’.

The note thanking Becca for her support comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex take a six week break from royal duty

In October Prince Harry and Meghan opened up about struggling with royal life and public scrutiny in an explosive ITV documentary

Speaking on The HeirPod Podcast, royal correspondent Omid Scobie revealed that the Sussexes ‘celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family’ on a ‘long time trip to the US’.

Meghan is known to be very close to her mother Doria, who was the only member of her family to attend the royal wedding in May last year.

If the Sussexes joined her at her LA home for the holidays, it would mark the first time Meghan has taken her son back to her hometown.

In October Prince Harry  and Meghan opened up about struggling with royal life and public scrutiny in the explosive ITV programme Meghan and Harry: An African Journey, in which Meghan revealed not many people have asked if she’s ‘okay’.

Meghan admitted to feeling vulnerable and spoke to Tom Bradby about the difficulty in coping with intense tabloid interest, saying: ‘It’s not enough to just survive something, that’s not the point of life. You have got to thrive.’

Harry, meanwhile, refused to deny a rift between himself and Prince William, acknowledging, ‘we are on different paths at the moment’.
