Drew Barrymore says she’ll ‘never forgive herself’ for boozy Andy Cohen interview

It’s okay, Drew — we have.

Drew Barrymore is apparently still beating herself up for a boozy appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” in 2018, telling host Andy Cohen that she “has never forgiven herself” for it.

“It was on your show, and I drank too much and I have never forgiven myself, nor will I ever forgive myself,” Barrymore, 45, told Cohen, 52, in an interview for her digital series “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“I’m an imperfect person, and I tout that, and I’ve had that liberty since I was a kid because it was all out there,” she added, referencing her famously out-of-control years as a child star, which included a stint in rehab as a teen following drug and alcohol abuse and suicide attempts. “And it was either boo hoo about it or say, ‘God, it’s sort of redeeming to not have to pretend to be perfect.’ But I really want to apologize to you because I really — I just, I will never let that happen again. I’m so sorry.”

Cohen, for his part, shrugged off Berrymore’s apology, by stating the obvious — that she’s far from the first person to be visibly in their cups on “WWHL.”

“I’m used to people being over-served on my show, and so I don’t even really have a totally clear memory of it, but you don’t need to apologize to me for being over-served on my show, that happens,” he says. “You’re in a great club of people.”

Barrymore may be taking notes for her own hosting gig, which premieres Sept. 14. Her self-titled, one-hour, nationally syndicated daytime show will be filmed in New York City and distributed by CBS.
