Room with quite a view… Detached £430,000 property raises eyebrows as bizarre ‘open plan en suite’ layout means the double-bed directly faces the toilet
- Property is in the small village of Rogiet, in Monmouthshire, south east Wales
- Pictures show how the toilet seat and shower are in plain view from the bed
A detached home has raised househunters’ eyebrows – after they noticed the bed directly faces the toilet.
The property, in the small village of Rogiet, in Monmouthshire, south east Wales, is up for sale for £429,950.
Pictures display a lovely clean house with a well-kept garden and paved area, a spacious grey living room, white kitchen, utility and dining area.
It also has two bathrooms – one downstairs and upstairs.
But an entire bathroom suite is directly facing the double bed in the master bedroom.
Urine the master bedroom: The disastrous layout plan of this bedroom, where the double bed is directly facing the toilet, sink and shower, means you can watch your other half’s entire bathroom routine from start to finish
The property, in the small village community of Rogiet, in Monmouthshire, south east Wales, is up for sale for £429,950
Bizarre pictures show how the toilet seat, sink and double shower are in plain view from the bed and there is even a line of carpet running all the way up to the toilet.
It means the sink is now just feet away from the TV and anyone doing their business would be able to sit and watch someone having a nap.
It appears whoever built the upstairs master en suite simply forgot to add a wall in.
According to estate agents, the master bedroom has what is known as an en suite that is ‘open plan to bedroom.’
From this angle the master bedroom en suite looks modern and new with a huge double shower – looking the other way, there is a serious lack of privacy
Elsewhere in the Rogiet property there is a lovely spacious grey living room with natural light coming in from the window
On Twitter, one person joked: ‘Got an AMAZING property for you, Twitter. First glance, all seems normal, very modern.
‘Sure, they’ve torn up the garden and put down that horrific plastic. And the main bathroom is giving Wine Mom. But it’s the main bedroom where things get DIFFERENT.
‘How can you open this cupboard without smashing the TV?
‘Then there’s the en-suite. THE SHOWER IS IN THE BEDROOM. THE TOILET FACES THE BED. NOTHING BUT COLD EYE CONTACT WITH YOUR PARTNER AS YOU S***.
The detached house also boasts a modern, large kitchen area next to the dining room
Bar the toilet facing double bedroom, there can be no complaints over this dining room area which flows into the kitchen and living room
‘Aside from the HORRIFIC LACK OF PRIVACY offered by this toilet and shower setup, that’s a toilet and a shower ON CARPET.
‘The bedroom will fill with steam, the delightful scent of your toilet time will fill the air, and the place will be covered in mildew.
‘Perfect, no notes.
‘Thanks to @mangmangmang I’ve realised the true horror of this, it’s like one of those monstrously exposed bathrooms from anxiety dreams.’
Another attractive feature of the house is the well-kept garden and paved area outside
To avoid, as one Twitter user put it, ‘stinking up the bedroom’ you could use one of the two other bathrooms available (above) in the house
One replied: ‘Nooooo!!! Dear f****** god! What if one of you stinks it up? No candles going to solve that one!’
And another added: ‘Ewwwww.’
A description from estate agents Davis & Sons dubs the four-bedroom property ‘simply stunning.’
It adds that the home is ‘completely refurbished to high specification’, has a ‘landscaped rear garden with hot tub’, ‘garage and driveway for three vehicles’ and is based on a ‘cul-de-sac on modern development.’
It adds: ‘The village of Rogiet offers local shop and primary schooling with the nearby larger town of Caldicot providing a wider range of facilities.
‘It also has excellent commuter facilities being in close proximity to Severn Tunnel Junction train station plus the M4 & M48 motorways.’
