You've been cooking your chicken all wrong – the 'wings technique' makes it extra crispy and helps it cook faster

CHICKEN bites are always a crowd-pleaser.

If they’re hot, crispy, and served with a side of coleslaw, that’s even better.

A woman named Jackie Hartlaub, who goes by @lowcarbstateofmind on TikTok, has gained over 6 million followers online thanks to her videos that offer recipes for protein-based meals and easy cooking hacks.

She recently shared her tip for cooking chicken bites — and the final product is mouth-watering.

“So, I saw this hack on TikTok a couple of weeks ago and when I saw it, I knew it would make such a good air-fryer recipe,” Jackie said.

The secret is all in the preparation.

“You’re gonna take a pack of chicken drumsticks and cut them along the bone so that they butterfly open like this.”

She sliced the middle of the raw drumstick and folded the two sides outward like a pair of wings.

“This is going to give you super crispy chicken on both sides and they’re going to cook quicker.”

Next, Jackie covered both sides with Dan-O’s seasoning and garlic salt and stuck them in the air fryer “skin side down.”

Her air fryer was set to 350 degrees, and after 20 minutes, she flipped the wings and let them cook for another 10.

The final result was a plate of golden brown, flakey yet juicy wings.

Viewers loved the idea: “I saw this on TikTok and it’s the only way that I do my chicken legs now!”

“I am so intimidated by my air fryer but I'm going to try this recipe. It looks delicious, thank you,” added another.
