Woman shows how much dirt is really lurking in your ‘clean’ car seats – and people are disgusted

IT'S easy enough to keep your car looking shiny and new by giving it a regular wash, but how often are you actually tackling the inside – particularly the car seats?

If you're guilty of neglecting your upholstery for months or years on end, then you might want to think again as one woman has demonstrated exactly how much dirt is lurking in your 'clean' seats – and it really is disgusting.

In a clip originally shared in an Australian cleaning Facebook group, the woman demonstrates cleaning the backseat of her car with a Bissell 'Proheat Revolution' carpet cleaner.

It had been years since she cleaned her car thoroughly, and although there were no visible stains or marks, the woman thought to tackle the task anyway.

And she was thankful she did as the container on the back of the machine very quickly filled with murky brown water – proving just how much dirt and grime had been hiding in the fabric.

Captioning the clip, she wrote: "B****y disgusting! This is just a general clean, there wasn't anything spilled or any really visible stains – just 10 years of filth."

And she wasn't the only one shocked by the disgusting result as many people were quick to comment expressing their own horror.

Some cleaning fanatics even found it "satisfying" to watch knowing once and for all the dirt was gone.

"Disgusting, but awesome," one woman replied, and another agreed: "Oh dear… but so very satisfying"

Others said they experienced similar results on what they thought was "clean" furniture and soft furnishings.

One person shared: "I've just finished my house, rugs and car and was disgusted with the dirt it pulled out. I thought I was a clean person until then!"

And another wrote: "I did this to my car and was mortified."
