Meghan Markle news: Piers Morgan SLAMS 'mud slinging' interview as Duchess claims she's trying to 'forgive' Royal Family | The Sun

PIERS Morgan has slammed Meghan Markle following an explosive interview, accusing her of an “outrageous abuse of royal status.”

In a tell-all interview with American magazine The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex took a series of swipes at the Royal Family, claiming that simply "by existing" she and Prince Harry had upset the Firm's "hierarchy."

Taking to Twitter, Morgan, 57, responded explosively to Meghan's comments.

He wrote: “How much more fork-tongued mud-slinging crap are the Royals going to take from Princess Pinocchio before the Queen strips her and her halfwit doormat husband of the titles they are exploiting so cynically to the highest bidders?

“It’s such an outrageous abuse of royal status.”

The interview also saw the Duchess reveal that Prince Harry had told her he had "lost his dad" in the process of quitting the royal family.

While many royals fans agreed with Morgan's outrage, some believe he has a personal grudge against Meghan.

One user said: “Your virulent attacks towards the duchess will not make the RF look better. You need to sober up while on this topic.

“You often sound subjective as if you have a personal vendetta against her.”

In the interview, Markle talked about hoping children aim for more than marring into status.

She talked about their power within: “It’s important to be thoughtful about it because—even with the Oprah interview, I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they’re just like, “Oh my God, it’s a real-life princess.”

“I just look at all of them and think, “You have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you’ve ever read.” I don’t mean that in terms of ‘You could marry a prince one day.’ I mean you can find love. You can find happiness.

“You can be up against what could feel like the greatest obstacle and then you can find happiness again.”

“Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?

“You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.”

Why does Prince Harry fly privately, despite being an advocate for the environment?

He told the UN general assembly that climate change is “wreaking havoc on our planet.”

Prince Harry and Meghan have been criticised countless times for taking their £6.5 million private jet across the pond to the UK.

They never seem to fly commercially, even though private jets are an extremely lavish mode of transport.

Perhaps they have security concerns, and prefer to keep their movements very secretive.

      Andrew’s embarrassing controversies

Andrew was finally consigned to the royal wilderness by the Queen in January following a series of embarrassing controversies.

He was derided over his BBC Newsnight interview in 2019 in which he spoke of his friendship with billionaire paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

Worse followed when Epstein trafficking victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre, 39, accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her three times in 2001 when she was 17.

He missed the birth of Beatrice and husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi’s daughter Sienna last September because he was hiding from lawyers trying to serve a court writ.

Andrew, who denied any wrongdoing, and Ms Giuffre eventually reached an out-of-court settlement in New York in February.

Four months later, he asked the Queen to return his colonelcy of the Grenadier Guards and begged to return to major royal events.

But Charles and Prince William, 40, stepped in and Andrew was banned from public aspects of an Order of the Garter ceremony.

“Harry is fiery, impetuous and vulnerable. He’s fragile very much in the way that Diana was.”
