Kate Middleton wows with new hair colour and designer dress as she talks about parenting

Kate Middleton, 38, has wowed her fans today with a beautiful new look. The Duchess of Cambridge met with families for a BBC initiative which was shown on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday morning. Kate looked radiant as she showed off a brighter hair colour in her newly-shaped locks and a chic designer midi dress.

Kate has been slowly getting back to royal duties in person as the lockdown eases in the UK.

The Duchess has been making her appearances remotely during the last few months, joining interviews and carrying out charity work from her home with husband Prince William, 38, on Zoom and video calls.

However, the mother of three was back in the public eye on Tuesday as she joined other families to discuss a BBC initiative.

Kate appeared on BBC Breakfast to support the launch of Tiny Happy People, which provides resources to help parents and carers to develop children’s language in the first four years of their lives.

The appearance was teased on the Kensington Palace Instagram account ahead of the show.

The caption read: “Say hello to @bbctinyhappypeople! Tune into @bbcbreakfast on Tuesday 14th July to join The Duchess of Cambridge and three families involved in its creation.

“Tiny Happy People is a BBC Education initiative providing a range of free digital resources, specifically designed to support parents and carers in developing children’s language from pregnancy to the age of four.”

Kate looked stunning for the BBC engagement, debuting her new hairdo with a fresh new cut and colour.

The Duchess is one of many who has taken advantage of the salons reopening earlier this month as she had a hair makeover.

Her chestnut brown hair was gone as she showed off her new “bronde” colour – a blend of blonde and brown – with soft honey-coloured highlights.

Kate’s hair was also freshly chopped, and she wore her slightly shorter locks with a centre parting and a face-framing layered fringe.

The Duchess also wowed in a stunning designer dress for the event which has already sold out online.

The Emilia Wickstead Anatola pleated polka-dot crepe shirtdress was worth £1,565, but had 70 per cent off in the sale, making it just £469.

The belted shirt dress featured a midi design with long sleeves and a pleated skirt, in a bold monochrome polka dot design.

In typical “Kate effect” style, the dress sold out within hours of the Duchess appearing on the show, but similar styles are available on the high street – including a belted polka dot dress at & Other Stories, another of Kate’s favourite brands, for just £95.

Kate teamed the look with her favourite Castañer Carina tan wedges, which retail for £120.

The chic shoes are also available in other colours online, though the tan shade goes with anything as Kate often wears them with different looks from her impressive wardrobe.

The Duchess wore her signature brown smokey eye for the programme, with strong brows that looked even more groomed alongside her shiny new blow-dry.

Kate admitted that she wished she had had more information as a first time mum as she spoke to families about the support on offer.

She called the resources “gold dust” in an interview with BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin as she discussed the project.

The Duchess has been working on the new initiative since November last year.
