I was a teen mum – I thought it’d be cute to dress up a baby, but the truth is I wasn’t financially or emotionally ready

NO one expects raising a baby to be easy – but when Alliah Harmon fell pregnant in high school, she couldn't wait to dress her newborn in all sorts of adorable outfits.

At just 17 years old, the teen mum welcomed her son Ryder – and her world turned upside down.

Now the 20-year-old, from Birmingham, Alabama, boasts over one MILLION followers on TikTok and opened up about the reality of being a teen mum in a recent video.

When one follower commented that she also wanted to be a teen mum, Alliah urged her to wait until she was older.

Reflecting on her own experience, Alliah admitted that she was initially excited to have a "mini me" who she could always "play dress up with".

However, that didn't compensate for the fact that Alliah had to "sacrifice her teenage years to raise a baby when [she wasn't] financially, mentally or emotionally ready for."

She captioned the clip: "Not saying I regret it or wouldn’t do it again for my babies but trust me when I say to wait if you can."

Earlier this year, Alliah became a mum for the second time when she welcomed daughter Ruthie Quinn with fiance Tyler.

In a separate video, Alliah shared some of the things she did with her firstborn that she's desperate not to repeat with her daughter.

She explained: "I allowed my son to have unlimited screentime.

"I never got him on a schedule. I let him sleep with me instead of crib training."

She wrote in the caption: "I was young and still learning.

"Also not saying these things are bad I just did research and decided I wanted to change things up a little."

Needless to say, Alliah's fan base were grateful for her honesty in the clips.

One replied: "I had a baby at 16. Trust me, they are cute but take up a lot of time and you don't get to be a teenager.

"I'm not saying I regret it but it's tough."

Another added: "Having two under 20 is the best thing that's ever happened to me but I definitely I would have waited."

"Being emotionally and mentally ready is very important," a third replied.
