Vicky Pattison shares imminent plans to freeze her eggs to take pressure off relationship

Vicky Pattisonhas recently opened up about her plans to freeze her eggs, and has since explained to OK! that she’s doing it for the sake of her “future happiness” and to take any pressure off her relationship.

The procedure is expensive and couldset Vicky back an eyewatering £10,000 but the former Geordie Shore star, 34, said that by not having it done, she could be “doing (herself) out of the chance to be a mother” and therefore plans on getting the process started “imminently”.

She also revealed that she doesn't want to rush her relationship because of her biological clock.

Vicky, is currently dating Ercan Ramadan, and has been doing so for three years.

While the pair are happy and living together, Ercan is six years Vicky’s junior, and the TV star doesn’t want to rush him into having kids if he’s not ready yet.

Speaking about the “time ramifications” women in their 30's face, Vicky said: “I’d love to be a man sometimes and not have to think about procreating in your thirties before it becomes more difficult. But, fortunately or unfortunately, whichever way you look at it, I do have those time ramifications, so I’m taking this positive step to just keep the pressure off my relationship with Ercan and take a couple more years to get to know each other and have fun, which I think we deserve.

“I’ve spent so many years of my life rushing relationships, it’s nice to finally feel like I’m with the right one so I can just take my time.”

“That’s the only thing I get jealous of boys about,” Vicky went on.

“I get jealous that boys don’t have to have periods, and I get jealous that, if things didn’t work out with me and Ercan, he could still quite happily take his time in finding someone else and have kids in the next ten years while for me it’s so time sensitive. That’s probably my only bugbear of being a woman.”

Discussing the expense of having her eggs frozen, Vicky told OK!: “I thought it was so expensive. I was talking to Vogue Williams about it on my podcast, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s like £10,000.’ You know, I’ve actually thought to myself, yes it is £10,000, but you’ve got to think, it’s your future happiness.

“I was talking to Amy Hart about it who’s obviously been through the process herself and she’s been so lovely with the advice she kind of gave me a bit of a breakdown with the cost and prices and everything.

"I just thought to myself, ‘Hang on a sec Vicky, you don’t think twice about buying yourself a designer handbag once a year, yet for the sake of a couple more thousand pounds, you are potentially doing yourself out of the chance to be a mother.’”

“You’ve just gotta' bite the bullet and accept that it’s an important precaution to take,” the 34 year old added.

“I think (freezing my eggs) is my way of taking back that control in allowing me to enjoy living my timeline and doing things that are right for me, rather than when my uterus tells me.”
