Vicky Pattison, who is known for a string of TV reality shows from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! to Geordie Shore, exclusively shared with us the details of the mullet hairstyle that drew Rod Stewart comparisons from her pals. She revealed all just days after opening a mullet-only hair salon in her home city, Newcastle.

“I don’t think I’ve ever intentionally had a mullet,” she explained, “but one time I went a bit blonde and it unintentionally went up.

“My friends called me Rod Stewart!” she chuckled of the unconventional look.

Undeterred by their comments, she revealed she would even consider getting the same dramatic cut deliberately, as, in her eyes, mullets are “truly back in fashion”.

Vicky showed her appreciation for an edgy style once rocked by Miley Cyrus, and said that the look certainly wouldn’t turn her off in a partner.

In a reference to fiance Ercan Ramadan, who proposed to her last year on the beach during a holiday in Dubai, she exclaimed: “I wouldn’t kick Ercan out of bed if he came home with a mullet one night!”

In fact, she’s so enthused by the style that she even took to recreating it herself on customers of a newly opened hair salon.

Earlier this month, Dirty Gertie’s opened its doors for a weekend of free cuts, with one provision – the styles would be mullets only.

An excited Vicky recalled: “There was a queue out the front door!”

In collaboration with Foxy Bingo, the two-day event also featured free manicures and bingo sessions.

Meanwhile, if anyone did take the plunge and go for the chop, Vicky invited them to send in photos of their new look, with the winner receiving a Foxy Bingo voucher worth thousands of pounds.

Reminiscing about the experience, she exclaimed: “What a way to celebrate. Foxy Bingo sure knows how to bring the party!

“I was absolutely buzzing to be back in the Toon with all my fellow Geordies.”

On the subject of happiness, Vicky has even published a book on how to achieve it, titled The Secret to Happy: How to build resilience, banish self-doubt and live the life you deserve.

Quizzed on the best route to feeling buoyant, the It’s Not Me, It’s You panellist exclaimed: “I literally admit to being such a fraud.

“There’s no one secret to happiness – it’s subjective. I say that on the first page of the book.”

However, she still had some handy advice, elaborating: “Not everyone wants to be the CEO, or the stay-at-home mum, or the super-fit influencer – it’s about doing whatever’s right for you.”

She believes that growing older has also helped her conquer some demons, admitting: “I wasn’t the best version of myself in my 20s.

“I was [also] riddled with insecurity and constantly comparing myself to others. I always felt I fell a bit short and didn’t really measure up.”

However, the now accomplished star, who has revealed she wants to be known for more than just her beginnings on Geordie Shore, is well on the way to achieving nationwide recognition for who she is today.

She added that with growing maturity, superficial things like clothing sizes “matter less and less”.
