The stunning transformation of Pewdiepie’s wife, Marzia

PewDiePie (real name: Felix Kjellberg) is one of the biggest and most controversial stars on YouTube. The Swedish vlogger is well known for his excitable “Let’s Play” videos, which see him playing video-games and (over)reacting to what’s happening to his character onscreen. Kjellberg was dating his stunning girlfriend, Marzia Bisognin, for eight years before the two tied the knot, but it’s obvious to fans they were meant to be.

According to Cheat Sheet, Marzia, who changed her surname to Kjellberg upon getting married, met her man through a friend who encouraged her to “watch this idiot playing video games.” She contacted PewDiePie by email and the two started seeing each other in 2011. Although Marzia is predominantly known as Kjellberg’s wife, it’s worth noting she was a major online personality in her own right, even if she didn’t adjust to fame as well as her husband.

Marzia was a YouTube star, too

As Cheat Sheet notes, Marzia was born in Italy in 1992. She launched her Youtube channel, CutiePieMarzia, in 2012, covering beauty, fashion, video games, and traveling — with PewDiePie frequently popping up to offer his two cents. It soon became the most subscribed-to Italian channel, as well as one of the most popular in the beauty category. As per a report by The Wall Street Journal, Marzia’s channel was attracting 16 million views per month at its height.

However, in October 2018, she retired from the site, blaming her mental health and admitting, “I wasn’t seeking any friendships and I was just finding comfort from my own little bubble on YouTube… If you allow it to take over your life, I think it’s not healthy.” As Dexerto reported, earlier this year, Marzia admitted that being a social media star had a negative impact on her self-worth, too, revealing she hid the right side of her face in uploads, considering it her bad side.

Marzia is finding success beyond YouTube

Thankfully, Marzia has found alternative avenues to explore her creative talents, voicing a character in the animated miniseries Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures, as well as playing herself in video game PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist, opposite her husband. She’s also been in the TV miniseries Pugatory, which is based on the life of her adorable pet pug, Maya. In addition, she published a young adult novel called Dream House in 2015.

Marzia has also released a clothing line, nail polish shade, and a selection of homeware products, per Tubefilter. In 2018, she launched Mai, a homeware brand packed with cute pieces. Marzia also manages unisex clothing and home decor brand Tsuki Market alongside PewDiePie. YouTube may be her hubby’s main job, but Marzia seems to have discovered many of her passions lay outside the social media platform.
