Strictly Come Dancing 2020 contestant Jamie Laing, who found fame on reality show Made In Chelsea, detailed a fashion disaster online today, ahead of his appearance on the BBC ballroom dancing show. The 31-year-old TV star said he had hoped that by drawing inspiration from a well-known dancer, he would improve his own dancing skills.

“So I woke up this morning and decided to dress a little like Channing Tatum from ‘Step Up’ thinking it would help with my dancing…” Jamie informed his 882,000 Instagram followers.

The 40-year-old American actor has showcased his impressive dance skills in a number of films in addition to the 2006 movie, including Magic Mike and the subsequent sequel.

In Step Up, he played troubled hip hop dancer Tyler Gage opposite his future wife and now ex Jenna Dewan.

In Jamie’s accompanying social media snaps, the reality star could be seen in a pair of grey jogging bottoms and a matching oversized jumper.

A red baseball cap and trainers completed his look.

Pointing out his error, Jamie went on to say: “All it did was make me look like a man child in clothes too big for him.”

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the funny caption.

“Eminem is that you?” another added, sharing a similar sentiment.

“Can’t wait to see you on Strictly,” a third fan remarked.

Jamie, who was set to star in the 2019 series of the prime-time show but had to leave the competition due to an early injury, has been partnered up with his professional partner this week, which will be broadcast this weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 will start on Saturday October 24 on BBC One.
