Emmerdales Max Parker announces engagement to on-screen brother Kris Mochrie

Emmerdale stars Max Parker and Kris Mochrie have announced their engagement after two years of dating.

The actors, who portrayed brothers Luke and Lee on the hit ITV soap, shared the happy news on social media alongside a series of adorable snaps.

Max, 29, and Kris, 37, met on the Emmerdale set, and after enjoying a string of dates they confirmed their romance in July 2020.

The couple soon moved in together and now live in a lavish apartment in Manchester.

Now, Max has taken the plunge and popped the question to his long-term partner in a romantic proposal on the beach.

The couple appeared to have been relaxing on the beach together before Max stood up and got down on one knee in front of a shocked Kris.

The 37 year old accepted the proposal without hesitation, the pair could be seen hugging each other as they celebrated the happy news.

Taking to Instagram, Max shared a selection of photographs from the special day, as well as the footage of him proposing.

The first snap showed the newly-engaged couple sharing a kiss, with Kris holding a bottle of champagne.

In the second image, Kris and Max could be seen looking out at the ocean together as Max cuddled his new fiancée.

Captioning the adorable post, Max gushed: "He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES!

"Happiest moment of my life. @krismoc my Fiancé."

The couple were inundated with congratulatory messages, with fellow soap star Amy Walsh writing: "Omg this is gorgeous news!!! Congratulations you beautiful men."

Emmerdale star Ash Palmisciano added: "Ah amazing news guys very lovely xx", while Daniel Brockelbank wrote: "Wonderful. Congratulations boys", along with three red heart emojis.

Kris also took to Instagram to pay tribute to his new fiancée, and sharing a picture of the couple standing together along with a video of the beach proposal.

The actor wrote a long caption praising long-term boyfriend Max, which read: "The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can't begin to describe how happy I am.

"I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I'm so so grateful that he came in to my life.

"I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect… I mean this film says it all. Max had asked my Mum for any jewellery that. my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket and he has had it made in to the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So so special.

"Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I'm a very lucky boy.
