Emily Ratajkowski poses naked to draw attention to US abortion bans

Emily Ratajkowski shared a passionate message amid the anti-abortion laws as she joined in with high profile names slamming the decisions being made in the US.

Wanting her message to make maximum impact, the model and actress stripped off and shared a naked image of herself alongside a message that cannot be ignored.

‘This week, 25 old white men voted to ban abortion in Alabama even in cases of incest and rape,’ she said alongside the shot.

‘These men in power are imposing their wills onto the bodies of women in order to uphold the patriarchy and perpetuate the industrial prison complex by preventing women of low economic opportunity the right to choose to not reproduce.

‘The states trying to ban abortion are the states that have the highest proportions of black women living there. This is about class and race and is a direct attack on the fundamental human rights women in the US deserve and are protected by under Roe vs. Wade. Our bodies, our choice.’

We can only imagine a tonne of critics are going to call her out for her choice to shed her clothing for the snap – as she covered her boobs with her hand and placed a lily over her nethers – but the point is in that earlier sentence: it’s her choice.

Funny that, eh?

Emily has proved herself an advocate for change, as she put herself on the line and was arrested last year for protesting alongside Amy Schumer.

They were protesting the imminent election of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court when they were among many who took to the capital city after the FBI concluded its investigation into the judge, launched after Dr Christine Blasey Ford testified about her sexual misconduct allegation.

Emily’s message was loud and clear alongside Amy, as she toted a sign that read: ‘Respect female existence or expect our resistance.’

Says it all.

Many celebrities have spoken out against the bills currently being passed against abortion in the US, with Missouri lawmakers most recently passing a controversial bill which would outlaw nearly all abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy in the state, with both women and healthcare professionals facing (sometimes life sentences in) prison for performing abortions.

Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky and Ohio are among the other states to pass new abortion restrictions.

Milla Jovovich recently shared her own story of having to have an abortion while Liam Payne tonight shared images of lawmakers alongside a rare political message.

‘I don’t usually comment on politics but this one got me and is so important,’ he told Instagram.

‘This whole abortion law thing in America is a mess I mean your completely taking away the rights of women and the ownership of the bodies that belong to them.

‘I have so much respect for women Watching someone go through pregnancy and how tough it can be at times and us as men never have to go through that so how can we even comment or decide what women should or shouldn’t go through, it is total BS that anyone is even given that power…[sic]’

Game Of Thrones actress Sophie Turner shared quotes of Republican lawmakers as she wrote: ‘Shame on you. OUR BODIES OUR CHOICE.’
