Music legend Billy Joel was recently caught on video playing a discarded piano on a sidewalk on Long Island, New York.
CNN said it received confirmation from Joel’s team that it indeed was the iconic musician in the video.
According to Newsday, Joel was riding his motorcycle when he noticed the piano on the curb in the community of Huntington.
“Not bad. The action is good,” Joel can be heard saying in the video
after playing it. “It just needs tuning. And the finish is beat.
It’s a perfectly good piano.”
Joel is heard playing an impromptu version of Shelton Brooks‘ 1917 ragtime roll “Darktown Strutters’ Ball.”
“It’s a shame to throw it out,” he adds. He even suggests donating it to the St. Vincent de Paul society.
