Bennifer are reportedly 'figuring out their future together', plus more news

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are ‘figuring out their future together’

After a summer filled with couples travel and blended family outings, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are turning their attention to a busy few months of work. At the same time, they’re “figuring out their future together,” according to one People source who noted that they “make a great team.” That teamwork was on full display on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival this month, where Jen supported Ben at his “Last Duel” premiere, and the 2021 Met Gala. Now, Ben’s reportedly preparing to film “Hypnotic” in Texas, while J.Lo gets ready to shoot “The Mother” in Canada beginning next month. “They are very grateful for their fun summer,” said the insider. “It’s all about work for the next few months. … They seem ready for it.” A source close to Jen added that the lovebirds, both of whom have children from previous relationships, do their best to sync up their schedules as far as work and kids because they’re “in it for the long haul.” After getting engaged back in 2002, the on-again pair split in 2004, then rekindled their romance this past spring. Earlier this week, ET reported Bennifer already had plans to spend their holidays together.

Kim Kardashian’s neighbor files suit over plans to build an underground vault and ‘wellness center’

Kim Kardashian West has another round of updates planned forher estate in California’s Hidden Hills section, and it’s not sitting well with her neighbor. People reports a nearby resident named Sarah Key has asked a judge to intervene and stop Kim from building an “underground vault, subterranean parking, an attached subterranean ‘wellness center’ and a detached guardhouse” on the expansive grounds. In her complaint, Sarah claims Kim’s additions would “flatten two hills” and add “two high-pressure gas transmission lines,” potentially putting “Hidden Hills community members at risk of catastrophic bodily injury and irreparable real personal property damage.” She even goes as far as to suggest the projects “may cause a loss of life.” According to TMZ, Sarah’s filed a restraining order against the Hidden Hills Community Association to prevent Kim from proceeding with the plans. Meanwhile, sources close to Kim have denied she’s building a “vault,” telling the webloid it’s “something else,” without giving any details. Kim bought the home with her future ex-husband, Kanye West, in 2014. They reportedly paid $20 million, then had extensive updates and renovations done both inside and out before moving in nearly three years later. As of 2018, the home was worth about $60 million, according to Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner. In the wake of Kim’s split from Kanye, she’s continued living in the home with the former couple’s four children.

Anderson Cooper talks co-parenting with ex, Benjamin Maisani

A year and a half after becoming a dad, Anderson Cooper is “happy and relaxed in a way he’s never been before.” That’s according to the CNN anchor’s ex, Benjamin Maisani, who shares 16-month-old Wyatt with Anderson. “Wyatt has grounded him,” Benjamin tells People. While the pair’s co-parenting teamwork may seem a bit unorthodox, Anderson, 54, has no regrets about asking his ex to join him as Wyatt’s second father. “It’s probably an unusual setup, but I knew he would be a great dad, and he is. We’re exes, but we’re family to each other, and we love each other as family and as co-parents,” Anderson explains. He admits they sometimes find themselves engaged in “the usual bickering that any two people have when there’s a kid involved, like what time should he go to swimming class, or should he wear the overalls, or whatever,” but says the only disagreements have been about “silly, minor things,” adding that he and Benjamin, 48, “get along great.” Besides, says the veteran journalist, “I’ve always believed that if you’ve been with somebody and that ends, in terms of an intimate relationship, if you love somebody, there’s no reason why that love shouldn’t continue.” Anderson welcomed Wyatt — named after his late father — last spring via surrogate, about a year after the death of his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, whose family is the focus of Anderson’s new book, “Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty,” out Sept. 21.

Angelina Jolie meets with ‘brave’ U.S. gymnasts amid Larry Nassar, FBI Senate hearings

During her visit to Washington, D.C., this week, Angelina Jolie met with gymnasts who testified at a Senate hearing on the FBI’s failure to investigate the athletes’ claims of abuse by Larry Nassar. Praising Simone Biles, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and others who spoke out on Instagram on Sept. 16, Angelina wrote: “I was honored to meet with some of the brave US gymnasts who appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. I’m in awe of their courage and commitment to preventing future failures to investigate abuse.” Angelina’s trip was focused on urging Senators to support the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and FBI reforms. “As Aly Raisman said in her testimony, ‘Over 100 victims could have been spared the abuse. All we needed was one adult to do the right thing,'” Angelina said in her message on Instagram. “Sending support and respect to them, and to all who are reliving this trauma so that system reforms can occur,” she concluded.

Bam Margera’s wife files for custody of their son with no divorce filing

Bam Margera’s wife of eight years, Nicole Boyd, filed documents this week requesting full custody of the couple’s son — but she has not filed a petition for divorce. According to TMZ, Nicole made the unusual request in Los Angeles on Sept. 15. Per the documents, she wants custody of Phoenix, 3, but will allow Bam to have monitored visitation. Bam would be able to choose the monitor, if the arrangement gets a green light, but Nicole would have the right to final approval of that monitor. Bam has battled substance abuse issues for years, though it’s unclear if that was mentioned in Nicole’s custody filing. Back in August, he filed suit against his former “J—–s” costar, Johnny Knoxville, and others, after they fired him from an upcoming movie project. According to People, he was axed after allegedly testing positive for Adderall, thereby violating the terms of a “wellness agreement.” In his suit, Bam claimed he was “coerced” into signing the agreement, which his lawyer described as “draconian.”

Mark Hoppus completes fifth round of chemotherapy

Former Blink-182 bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus shared a health update this week, telling his Twitter followers he’s completed his fifth round of chemotherapy. “Today I’m grateful to not be going in for chemotherapy. It’s been three weeks since my last treatment. Normally I’d be going in today,” he shared, adding, “‘Normally.’ D—. Getting pumped full of poison every three weeks is my normal.” Mark, 49, first revealed his cancer diagnosis on social media in June, after learning he has stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. In July, he announced “the chemo is working,” according to “scans” at the time. He closed his post this week by writing that he’ll get scans done again on Sept. 29 to see if the last round of treatment was also successful.
