Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, has shared a very cheeky admission about where his loyalties lie on Strictly Come Dancing 2021. The professional dancer is preparing to make his Strictly debut with new partner, Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, 37, but that didn’t stop him from visiting his competitor’s family business.

Aljaz, who is married to former Strictly pro and It Takes Two host Janette Manrara, revealed he was “basically supporting the competition” by going to one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants in London.

It comes as Aljaz and Sarah will be competing against chef Gordon’s daughter Tilly Ramsay, 19, and her partner Nikita Kuzmin, 23, to get their hands on the Glitterball trophy.

Aljaz sheepishly made the comment while enjoying a delicious meal at Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger eatery.

Sharing a snap of his cheeseburger in view of his 469,000 Instagram followers, the dancer wrote: “Basically supporting the competition!

“Yuuum, it is worth it!” He quipped.

Aljaz also mischievously tagged Tilly, Gordon, and Nikita into his post so they would see what he was up to.

Despite “supporting” Tilly through his choice of restaurant, Aljaz also took to social media to encourage his own dance partner Sara ahead of the first live show this Saturday.

He shared a smiley selfie showing the pair in the training room after completing their final day of rehearsals.

Aljaz captioned the sweet pic: “This is us. After our last run of the CHA CHA CHA before we do it in the @bbcstrictly studio.

“I cannot wait to share that magical floor with my @saradaviescc. You know what they say.. ‘You never forget your first one’ and we are gonna make sure u don’t forget ours!

“I want everyone’s face to look as happy and excited after our dance. We can’t help but smile and be happy after it… that’s why we do it!!!

“Let’s do this partner.”

Elsewhere, Gordon’s daughter Tilly recently admitted that her dad was less than impressed by the announcement she would be dancing with Nikita.

Although the celebrity chef seemed happy during the launch show after Tilly shared the news with him on FaceTime, things weren’t as positive behind-the-scenes.

It comes after Tilly and Gordon have been busy entertaining TikTok users with their dance routines in recent months.

TV presenter Tilly spilled: “I think it’d be great to see him dance [on the show]. He’s actually really upset that I’ve got a new dance partner.”

The Strictly star continued in an interview with this week’s Radio Times: “You know, he’s been my dance partner for a long time now [on TikTok], and he said, ‘But you will still dance with me?’

“And I’m like, ‘Maybe you’ll have to go and find a dance partner, Dad’.”

Tilly went on to detail her parents’ thoughts ahead of her first dance with Nikita on the live show on Saturday.

She said of her mum Tana Ramsay: “I think my mum is really nervous, but excited — and just trying to show the excited part.

“And, gosh, Dad is over-the-moon excited. Honestly, every day, without fail, I wake up to him calling me, playing the Strictly theme tune and trying to dance around my room, and I’m like, ‘No, stop!’

“It’s sweet the first couple of times, but when it gets to a couple of months in, you’re like, ‘Please, stop!’”
